About Niagara Region

Northern Niagara Next to the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, Niagara-on-the-lake & St. Davids is an affluent, scenic part of the region known for its old-town charm, slower pace of life, and great schools, making it a favourite place to settle for both retirees and families. At the south end of Niagara-on-the-lake is the community of Queenston, which lies at the foot of the beautiful Niagara Escarpment. It’s a quaint village with centuries-old buildings and a rich history, and is a perfect place to get active in nature, or to relax with a beautiful view of the Niagara River.
The largest city in Niagara Region, St. Catharines, is home to Brock University and Niagara College. Many students live in the area, giving the city a distinct energetic atmosphere. It’s also known as “the Garden City” for its lush surroundings, expansive greenspaces, parks, and trails. It also boasts a vibrant theatre district, and is home to Sunset Beach, a popular destination for boating and picnicking. Port Dalhousie in St. Catharines is the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful waterfront, historic lighthouse, pristine beach, and antique carousel—which still costs just five cents to ride!
